Hi Y'all,
I just got back from New Orleans and had loads of fun. I went for the Les Enfants d'Antan Doll Show. I delivered the twins to their grandmother Frances and she totally loved them. I saw lots of my dolly friends there and my new friend Mona Ford drove to New Orleans from Pensacola, FL. to adopt a baby. Sorry Mona I still cannot download your picture. I just can't seem to get this thing to work.
I stayed with my friends GG and Tom and we had a great time together. We crocheted a little and sculpted a little and laughed a whole lot. Had some great meals. I ate my first Latin meal and could not eat it all. Lots of food. My friend GG is from Columbia, South America. Oh boy, is she ever a hoot. They are the best..... Love you GG and Tom.
I also want to thank my friends Mamisette, Leny, Clara, Sheltiebud and Meli that are always faithfully leaving me a sweet message on my blog. I always feel the love from you. I love you Gals, too . Wish we all live close so we could play dolls. Don't you know we would have a blast. hehe
Now I have to get ready for my show in Feb. Bayou Babes of Baton Rouge
I will be listing doll clothes and dolls on Etsy under the names Somersky and some dolls on Ebay, antique_doll_painter, The Little Saints Nursery. So come by and visit my auction on ebay and my store on Etsy.
I'll post again soon.
Bye for now

Hi Y'all,
I am getting ready for my October 16 doll show in New Orleans. I have been working like crazy trying to get all my little dolls and dresses ready to go. I had a commission job for twin girls Julie (green) and Joy (pink), they are not identical twins, but I think it would have been easier to do identical. I don't know I have never tried that yet. Anyway they will be delivered to grammy in New Orleans. Thank you Frances, I hope you like them. I think they turned out great. Love the dresses.

Hi Y'all,

We arrived home safely after our trip to Huntsville, Alabama. Saw a lot of my dolly friends and met a few more. My sweet friend from Clay Babies drove 3 1/2 hours to come see me. Barb, I enjoyed what little time we had. Hope one day we can do it again. Tell your mom hi for me. I did not have a camera to take pictures of my booth so Saturday morning I got a bright idea to go to Walmart and buy a disposeable camera. So we did. I took a few pictures but I forgot to take a picture of me and Barb. I think I was so excited about her being there that I just forgot about pictures. hehehe!!!! I just kill me sometimes........ Well, I still have to take pictures on the film so...........I know, I know I am slow. I will try to get the pictures taken so I can put them on here for you to see. In the mean time, yesterday I finally listed 2 dresses on my Etsy store. I am listed as Somerskye on there because my other names would not go thru so that is what I am on Etsy........Here is a picture of one of the dress. The Blue Toile Bishop. The other is a day gown with bullion rosebuds. I am thinking about listing some more of my smocked bishops on Etsy. Hope they will sell there. They are not easy to make. But I do love to do them.

My next show will be in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is Les Enfants d' Antan, October 16, 2010 at the Crown Plaza New Orleans Airport hotel. I have quite a few dolls done for the show, so I am thinking of working on my miniature babies for the next show. Also some commission work that I have to do for that show and my up coming show in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in Feb. 2011.

Well, I better go and get busy. I have lots of work to do.

Y'all come back and visit real soon.

I found another picture of her. I think Amanda wanted to take Greg's arm out of the picture. But he was such a good sport about holding the baby so I decided just to leave it. Hope y'all like her.

Hi Y'all,
Well my other camera died today, now I have no camera's to take pictures. But Amanda came by and took a picture of my 12 inch baby girl. She had so much fun taking pictures. But I can't find them. This is the only one I could find. Amanda squished her up, stuck her in a crocheted hat heehe and started taking pictures of her.
She is a little bald headed sleepy baby. Cute as a button. Amanda wants her, I could tell. She kept saying moma are you gonna sell her. I love her. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwh moma don't sell her.

They will be going to the show also. I have been sewing all day. I sure hope I get everything done.

New Babies and Dresses

Well hi yall'
I think she is a bit upside down. oh well, I think she is showing you her hem on her new dress. It is a long white batiste day dress. The baby is 7 inches. Her hair is pale blonde mohair and she has big blue eyes. She is forsale, But if she does not sale before the Twickenham Doll Show in Huntsville, Al. then she will make her debute at the doll show.
You can email me if your interested in anything I have.

This is one of my smaller babies she is 5 inches and she is wearing a white batiste dress that is embroidered down the front with pink rose buds. Her passie was made by my friend Dorothy Steven. Isn't it just the cutest little thing. And just looky at her little teddy she is so cute with her embroidered belly. I just love these little bears. These are just a few things that will be going to the doll show. I have lots more. I hope that I will be able to take more pictures but both of my cameras are dying. Well, one already has and my all time favorite is now going. Hopefully it will last a bit longer for me to get a new one.

Well I will be back in a bit.

I think she is a cute little girl. This is one of my new crocheted dresses. I have 2 doll shows coming up. One in August and the other in October. I have lots of crocheted dresses that I am working on and lots of daygowns, porch gowns, diaper shirts and smocked dresses. The August Show will be in Huntsville, Al. The Twickenham Doll Show and the October show Les Enfants' Anton is in New Orleans. I am excited about both shows. But lots of work to do.....

This baby is 4 1/2 inches in length. She has big blue glass eyes and light blonde platinum mohair. Her body is made from doe suede fabric and filled with polyfil to make her easy to dress.
The day gown that she is modeling is made from pure white batiste fabric, pure white lace on the sleeves and the bottom of the gown. Closure on the back of the gown is velcro and 3 white seed pearls

New Dollhouse dollclothes

I have been working all week on this little smocked Bishop for my dollhouse doll. I was trying to make it for my sculpted polymer clay baby but her neck is to big, so this little guy will have to model it for now. Until we get another little girl. He was made by Nada Christensen. He is all porcelain. I sculpted the other baby out of polymer clay. She has a soft body that helps when you are dressing her. I crocheted her little outfit and bonnet. Now I have to learn to crochet booties. Ooooooo I think they are so sweet.
